Reading – to see how well you read for general sense, main ideas, and details, and whether you understand the author’s inferences and opinions. The reading module evaluates your ability to understand and interpret written information. It comprises three sections, progressively increasing in difficulty. Texts are sourced from newspapers, journals, books, and other publications. Questions test your ability to identify the main ideas, details, and the writer’s opinions.
Writing – to see how well and how accurately you write a response, organize your ideas, and use wide-ranging vocabulary and grammar. The writing module consists of two tasks:
Speaking – to see how well you can communicate opinions and information on everyday topics and common experiences, and express and justify your opinions.The speaking module assesses your ability to communicate verbally. It consists of three parts:
Which IELTS test is right for me?
There are two main IELTS tests available – IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training:

International English Language Testing System IELTS Exam is expected that the applicant must be at least 16 years old or above to take the IELTS exam and also possess a valid passport. You must have basic knowledge of the English language. Other than these, you must have a strong objective of studying, working, or migrating to an English–speaking country. The IELTS score is calculated on a scale of 1-9 which is known as bands. Based on this, band 6 and above are considered competent if you aim for standard universities. It is important to note that different universities have their own criteria for accepting the IELTS score.
